ABC Time!!

Today I did some work with my boys. We worked on doing the ABCs.
I am proud to say that I am able to do every letter of the alphabet in sign language.
I still struggle with the letter D which sucks because it’s a letter
in my name, but I am surely getting there with it.

I am going to show you the adventure of teaching my boys through a
series of photos within a video. I found that Tyrell, 6, understood pretty quickly and Kayden, 3,  struggled. I feel like Tyrell did a lot better with the letters
because of the fact that he knows his ABCs.
Kayden was able to get the letters with help but I don’t think
he really understands what we are trying to accomplish.

Here are the boys doing their ABCs:

Here we are doing our names:

Here is me doing the ABCs

I am still struggling to be in front of the camera.
But, one thing I am really enjoying is the fact that
I am getting more fluent while doing the alphabet.
I can’t wait to see what else I can learn.

  1. Debbie, I love that you are expanding your learning project beyond simply educating yourself but that you are including your family in the journey too. It is so much more fun to learn something when you aren’t learning in isolation. Were your boys excited to learn ASL or was it a bit of a struggle to get them involved in it? Are you going to continue to include them in your learning project? Looking forward to reading more! Keep up the good work!

  2. Looking awesome Debbie! Glad to see you putting yourself out there with the videos! Being in front of the camera definitely takes some getting used to but it will get easier as the weeks go on! Glad to see your boys are getting involved and might I add they are a couple of cute kids! Keep up the great work and I cannot wait to see more from you and your family 😀

  3. Hey Debbie,
I love that you’re including your family in your learning process! Your boys are adorable and learning the ABC’s are a great place to start. When I first started recording my own learning project I also struggled with being on camera. I don’t know if it gets much easier but you will get more comfortable with it. Keep up the great work!
