Letter of Introduction

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Deborah McCloud, and I am a University of Regina education student. I just completed my fourth year and I am striving to complete a Bachelor of Education. I am majoring in physical education and minoring in health. I was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan and grew up in the northern community of Air Ronge. The main reasons I want to teach are: I want to make a difference in someone’s life, see a student light up when they understand something I taught them, do my best to help a student through high school because we all know how difficult it can be, and show students that physical activity can be a good way to let off steam and keep their stress levels down.

My educational philosophy is constantly changing but one thing that has never changed for me is that students should be active. I believe, from experience, that being physically active by participating in recreational sport, school sports or just moving in general can benefit an individual not only health-wise but also in school. I believe that my grades benefited from physical activity, and it also relieved a lot of stress and anxiety that I had while in school.

My extracurricular interests include basketball and volleyball, and I hope to coach both some day. I have also had an interest in hockey and am planning to get into it in the fall of 2015. I helped with the grade seven to nine volleyball at my school when I was in high school, and I was the assistant coach for a grade five and six basketball team when I was in grade twelve.

I would like to thank you for allowing me to be in your classroom and for helping me with my journey to becoming a teacher. I am looking forward to learning some classroom management techniques and some different teaching strategies to use in my future career.

Deborah McCloud

  1. Hey Debbie!
Just wanted to say that your blog is looking fantastic! Glad to see that you are adding lesson plans and year plans, and have included your educational philosophy. Some other things that you could maybe look at adding would be your Final IIP from internship or maybe a resource page of things you have created or found on the internet! Just some suggestions! Keep up the great work!
